Schenevus Students and Parents - We are looking forward to welcoming students back to school on Thursday, September 7. Weather permitting, on Friday, September 8, we will have a day of welcome back activities for all students. We ask that you dress appropriately to be outside. Also, one of our activities requires a white tee shirt. If you are able, please have your child bring one to school on Thursday. If you happen to have an extra white tee that you’d like to donate to a student needing one, that will be appreciated.

We would like to share information about the federal Affordable Connectivity Program to help New York State families pay for internet service. The pandemic showed us that, with so many households relying on the Internet for education, New Yorkers need access to affordable and dependable broadband.
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) provides all households in your district $30 a month assistance if they are enrolled in the Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program and/or the School Breakfast Program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision.
We encourage all families to fill out the Free and Reduced Lunch forms which can be found on our website under DOCUMENTS >>DEPARTMENTS>>FOOD SERVICES.
More information can be found at

On Tuesday, July 11, 18, 25, and August 1, Jen Green and I hosted a summer clinic for Schenevus students entering grades 3 - 6. We had 8 students that participated , along with Cadence Ritton and Charlotte Barrett that helped the athletes. We worked on catching, passing, dribbling, and layups/shooting. Overall, the students had fun and all said they learned something during our time together. Our hope is to continue this next year to help gain interest in basketball and improve skills of our future athletes.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with our young athletes and help them grow.

Eye Health and Safety Month:
Children's Eye Health and Safety Month is celebrated every August. This month aims to raise awareness about the importance of taking care of children’s eyes. The American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend that children have their eyes checked starting as newborns. After that, screenings are recommended during well-child visits.
An eye injury can occur at any time, in any place. Adequate prevention is important and could eliminate most eye injuries. Close to 50% of injuries occur in sports and recreational activities—more often in children and teens than any other age group
Vaccine Awareness Month:
National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is an annual observance held in August to highlight the importance of routine vaccination for people of all ages. Vaccines help protect you and your child from many serious diseases and help your child to stay healthy. Vaccines are available at School Based Health Care at no cost for those enrolled in the program. If you would like your child enrolled in School Based Health Care please call 844-255-7242 for information.
