The Hallway of Honor was started in 1998 with an autographed picture of Steve Garvey. Rich Westcott, a Schenevus graduate, parent, coach, and former Board of Education member started the project in 1988 as a way to inspire everyone in the school community. As you view the pictures of these high-profile sports figures and read through their inspirational notes, it becomes apparent that parents, teachers, coaches and administrators, as well as these sports heroes, are all saying the same thing — work hard and dream big. The Hallway of Honor is located inside the school building.

Esports is the opportunity for students to be a part of a team environment and learn new skills without being on an organized sport. Schenevus has obtained Switch Kits from ONC BOCES that have games preloaded on them. These include Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart and Rocket League. These video games are a great way for students to engage with each other and learn new skill sets and working in teams and with each other. With this club we are hoping to be able to compete with other school districts in the area and even begin looking into local tournaments we can enter. We will be meeting weekly and are hoping to get some students interested in this! If you would like more information, please contact James Tedesco for any questions you may have about the program.
The NHS program empowers and equips your students with the knowledge and skills to be transformative leaders in your school, community, and beyond. In addition, it provides a necessary bridge between students and school leaders—helping you to engage and hear what students think, feel, and need.
The Schenevus Central School District recognizes that concussions and head injuries are the most commonly reported injuries in children and adolescents who participate in sports and recreational activities. The physical and mental well-being of our students is a primary concern. Therefore, the Schenevus Central School District adopts the following Policy to support the proper evaluation and management of concussion injuries. A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury (MTBI).
A concussion occurs when normal brain functioning is disrupted by a blow or jolt to the head or body that causes the head and brain to move rapidly back and forth. Recovery from concussion and its symptoms will vary. Avoiding re-injury and over-exertion until fully recovered are the cornerstones of proper concussion management. Concussions can impact a student’s academics as well as their athletic pursuits.
Each school coach, physical education teacher, school nurse and certified athletic trainer who works with and/or provides instruction to students in school-sponsored athletic activities shall complete a course of instruction every two (2) years relating to recognizing the symptoms of concussions or MTBIs and monitoring and seeking proper medical treatment for students who suffer from a concussion or MTBI, and the district may establish a Concussion Management Team (CMT).
